This scholarship program has been established in memory of CTANJ founding member Barbara J. Chirico who passed away in January of 2024. Barbara was a trailblazer in the ground transportation industry and loved to help others and share her knowledge of not only the ground transportation industry but life in general. In honor of Barbara’s zest for life and helping others, this scholarship is designed to assist the children of current CTANJ members and their employees who are attending college, trade school or postgraduate school in the coming year. The parent(s) of the applicant must be a current/active owner or employee of an CTANJ Member at the time of the scholarship award.
All applications will be reviewed by a Scholarship Review Committee which will be comprised at least five CTANJ Board Members and Barbara’s daughter, Deanna Gulino. CTANJ Committee Members shall be appointed annually by the President.
All completed applications are due by June 30, 2025 with scholarship awards being awarded by July 15, 2025. All scholarship award funds will be issued directly to the school of the applicant. The scholarship award recipients will continue to be eligible for 4-years of college term if they are able to maintain a GPA of 3.2 each year. Copies of college transcripts can be submitted directly to the scholarship committee annually for payment of the scholarship. Recipients will be capped to 4 years of awards.
